The euCPSP project is a European observational study on the incidence and characteristics of chronic post surgical pain. It is supported by the European Society of Anaesthesiology’s Clinical Trial Network (ESA-CTN) and aims at investigating the following research questions:

• What is the incidence of chronic post surgical pain (CPSP) in Europe?
• What are the risk factors of chronic post surgical pain (CPSP) related to surgery, patient and anaesthesia management?
• What are the differences in incidence and risk factors in different European countries?
